SKY SPORTS’ Joe Drabble (@Joe_Drabs) completed a clean sweep on Tuesday. Can he continue his phenomenal form up on Wednesday?
Pakistan v UAE | Wednesday 01.00 | Sky Sports 2
Pakistan have been predictably unpredictable throughout this World Cup and narrowly avoided a scare against Zimbabwe in their last outing to register their first win of the tournament. UAE, the country which has been Pakistan’s home since 2009, are up next for Misbah Ul-Haq’s men and I’ve picked out a couple of fancies ahead of the match…
Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad was touted as one of the potential stars of the tournament but just one run from 21 balls in his last two ODI innings have left many asking what all the fuss is about.
But I’m backing him to turn it around here. Napier is one of the best batting pitches in New Zealand and Shehzad showed glimpses of his quality with a half-century at the venue against the Black Caps in the lead up to the World Cup. I’m on him at 7/2 for Top Batsman.
In the bowling stakes I’m all over Pakistan’s 7ft giant seamer Mohammad Irfan for Top Bowler at 9/2. With 17 wickets in his last 10 ODIs and four in his last match, Irfan will be licking his lips at the prospect of taking on UAE’s fragile batting line-up.
Pakistan v UAE – Ahmed Shehzad to be Top Batsman (7/2 Paddy Power)
Pakistan v UAE – Mohammad Irfan to be Top Bowler (9/2 Stan James)
