Bournemouth v Liverpool | Wednesday 19:45 | Sky Sports 1

What a horrible match for Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers this is! A dire couple of months has reached it's (possible) nadir in the last week with them getting knocked out the Champions League and then losing 3-0 to bitter rivals Manchester United. They needed a stress-free game next. They haven't got that.

Instead they face a side at the top of the Championship with an unbeaten run of 12 to protect. These are heady days at Dean Court, not only are they thriving at the top of the second tier but they're excelling in the Capital One Cup too.

Eddie Howe's side have eliminated Cardiff 3-0 away in Round 3 before seeing off Premier League West Brom 2-1 with a shadow side. It's hard not to be impressed.

In the league they've haven't lost since September and have won eight of their last 11 fixtures. They enter this League Cup Quarter-Final in rude health.

Liverpool in comparison are bleeding. Out the Champions League and entering Christmas week in the bottom half of the Premier League table. They've won just two of their last 10 games in all competitions and squeezed out five losses in that run. It's a horrid situation.

Let's not forget Liverpool needed penalties to get past Championship high-flyers Middlesbrough, and that was at Anfield. How will they fare here?

I actually think the bookmakers have called this spot on. I don't see much value in the 11/4 priced up by Betfred on Bournemouth winning. Although they've been racking up the goals of late, when faced with tougher opposition goals have been harder to come by. Liverpool have evidently been struggling in front of goal with four blanks in their last 10 games, and two in their last three.

Adding that all together, I think the 21/20 on 2-3 goals in this match offered by BetVictor represents the safest bet.
