JACK Milner (@JJMSports) is our man as he gives us his views on the big races at Newbury and Newcastle on Saturday.

11.55 Fairyhouse | 2m5f Beginners Chase

I'm with Rule The World here in this Fairhouse opener. He's been a very good hurdler in the last two seasons, finishing 2nd to The New One in the 2013 Neptune and then was 6th to More Of That in last season's World Hurdle.

This is his first run over fences and he's best price 13/8 favourite as I type. Favourites have a good record in this race and he's without doubt the class act amongst this bunch. I think he'll have too much in hand and I expect him to win.

13:05 Newcastle | 2m6f Novice Hurdle

I like the look of Chitzwell for Nicky Richards in this race. The stable are in cracking form at the moment and had a treble at Doncaster on Friday.

Chitzwell won on his hurdling debut at Ayr last month over 2 and a half miles and he looked like he'll improve the further he goes. He's up against the Listed Bumper winner from the Cheltenham Open meeting two weeks ago Definitely Red, but I think he'll be too strong and experienced for him. With the stable in good form he looks a good bet at 11/4 with BetVictor.

14:40 Newcastle | 3m Rehearsal Chase

Vintage Star for me here, he was 2nd in this race last year to Hey Big Spender by just a neck.

Last year's winner goes again here looking for a third win in this Newcastle race, but he's running off top weight this time and I think the 3lb that Vintage Star has in hand over him will make all the difference. The Sue Smith stable are in good form too so at 6/1 he looks a cracking bet.

15:00 Newbury | 3m2f Hennessy Gold Cup

Many Clouds is the horse I like here at 9/1 with BetVictor. The testing ground will be right up his street.

I've actually backed this boy at 40/1 to win the Gold Cup next March as I love the way he's progressing. He was 4th to Holywell at Aintree in April and in his season opener this year beat Eduard at Carlisle. Many Clouds has the perfect profile for this race, this is his second season jumping fences and his trainer Oliver Sherwood is in great form. I can't see him being out the first five.

Best Bets

11:55 Fairyhouse – Rule The World To Win (13/8 Boylesports)

13:05 Newcastle – Chitzwell To Win (11/4 BetVictor)

14:40 Newcastle – Vintage Star Each Way (6/1 BetVictor)

15:00 Newcastle – Many Clouds Each Way (9/1 BetVictor)

I started working in the betting industry as a teenager, not necessarily legally, as a son of someone who has been in involved in Huddersfield’s leading independent bookmakers for nearly 35 years. Since then I've moved from Timebox to Coral to BetVictor. A lover of football, cricket, rugby, darts, golf and National Hunt Racing to mention but a few. Talk a good game, punt a dreadful one. You will catch me on the sun-laden astroturf pitches of Gibraltar or in an office watching horses run around a field or golfers hitting balls with a stick, generally with a few bob on both.
